Soon many of our kids will be starting school/daycare for the first time, or going to a new school/ daycare, having a new schedule, or have upcoming travel for the holiday season and a visual schedule can help calm anxieties and give them clear expectations for with their day/week will look like. This can be for maybe 1yr olds-99 yrs 😜 who doesn’t like a visual to do list?!
These can be as simple or as fancy as you’d like. Do what works for you!
We talk through a new visual schedule several times and even days before the actual event. Introducing it day of can be too overwhelming for you and/or your kiddo.

Social stories are another great way to teach a new skill or set specific social expectations about a new or tough situation. (Ex: first haircut, riding the bus, going to a new school, having a new babysitter, etc) I’ll be doing a post on this soon!
